The Women Fellowship is a friendly and creative group of women mixing fun with service. Members of the group work year-round on a variety of service projects aimed at supporting charities and philanthropic organizations serving the Pittsburgh area as well as countries overseas. The Women Fellowship meets once a week to work on projects and socialize, learn from one another, and build lasting friendships.
Smithfield United Church of Christ offers a range of groups tapping into our members' interests and talents. From our very talented church choir to our dedicated nursery staff, we welcome all who would like to share their gift and wish to be part of our dynamic community. Music plays an important part in our services and celebrations. From formal choir pieces, to hymn sing-alongs, to djembe drum circles, we celebrate God using a variety of musical styles. The Music group is lead by our talented Director of Music, James Varner, who is joined by a variety of talented singers and musicians.
Led by our Director of Christian Education, Hannah Loughman, our Christian Education programs provide both our children and adult members with innovative programs aimed at facilitating their spiritual growth. In addition to the Children School, open every Sunday during the worshiping hour, other of our educational activities include a summer camp for children and a variety of adult classes.
As a part of the Pittsburgh downtown community, Smithfield UCC is committed to helping those in need and being part of our vibrant community. From our walk-in food pantry distributing food to the less fortunate to our seasonal festivals celebrating Fall and Summer, our community outreach projects are numerous.
