WALK-IN MINISTRY

Smithfield United Church of Christ, in conjunction with the Downtown Ministerium, hosts a food pantry and walk-in ministry every fourth week. The pantry provides food to between 40 and 50 people a week; offering frozen meats, dairy products, frozen fruits and vegetables, dry and canned goods, juices and toiletries. The pantry also carries a selection of to-go snacks and pop-top cans to help meet the needs of the city's unhoused population. The pantry was started and operated for many years by Rena Thomas. Today the pantry is overseen by the church's office administrator, Sean O'Donnell. The pantry operates Monday through Thursday from 8 am until 11 am. It is recommended that you bring bags and/or a cart to transport your food.
