We celebrate all the joys of this day with an "extravagant welcome" writ large –

and multicolored

The invitation to enter and be welcomed was received with

   

                  laughter                                        curiosity                                          enthusiasm

Small children approached with trepidation leading to ecstasies of laughter over pretended fear and an all-engulfing embrace.

There were long-time members with guests, visitors from Indianapolis discovering one of the unexpected delights of this "most livable city" and making a photographic record before continuing on their way, and a passerby who stopped to chat and stayed for the service.

   

And as always, there was the unexpected:
