Easter Sunday – April 24, 2011

Thanks to Mariruth and Gene the sanctuary is in readiness for the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus:

Downstairs, in the Social Hall, families are gathering to participate in the annual Easter Egg hunt that will take excited children from the Hall to classrooms, the gym, the church office, the library, and the hallways in search of brightly colored plastic eggs. Each team is to search for a specific number of eggs of an assigned color — yellow, pink, blue, green, purple. Having found all of their eggs, the searchers will return to the Social Hall, open the eggs and create a line-by-line Easter story sheet.

The eggs are mostly hidden in plain sight, but it does take imagination to find some of them.

Some are REALLY easy to spot.

Others are a challenge.

A long reach for an egg under the library table?

Returning to the Social Hall, participants eagerly open their eggs, remove the paper strips inside, each with a part of the Easter Story text, and begin to "fill in the blanks" on their story sheet.
