Making an intergenerational Christmas Pageant –
The First Sunday in Advent 2007

We need a star – a big star to light the place where Jesus is to be born. Star making is gloppy fun.

The shepherds will need crooks to help them keep their sheep close by as they go to find the baby Jesus.

 

Three wise ones are coming? They'll be wearing these crowns of gold.

While all of this creative activity is taking place, some of the folks with speaking parts read through the script for the first time.

The Second Sunday in Advent 2007

Members of the cast warm-up with the singing of Christmas Carols.

 

It's the first walk-through of the script. "Isaiah" proclaims from the pulpit and a reader stands ready at the lectern.

 

Shepherds, used to long watches in the fields, wait patiently in the pews for their cue,

and angels can be heard on high in the balcony.

The wise ones have the furthest to go, and they are not yet in view.
