Easter Sunday, Part 2 April 12, 2009
The teens are the first to find all of their eggs. With an image of the complete puzzle in hand, they set to work sorting pieces and looking for matches. ![]() Other teams arrive.
Eager hands reach out to help. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Slowly, the puzzles are completed with the dedicated help of an adult team member, or two. ![]() The Easter service will soon begin. Will the children remember the word they buried in a flower pot the first Sunday of Lent? It was "Alleluia" a word that would not be spoken again until Easter. As they gather for the Children's Time, Pastor Liddy reminds them that this is the day when they can once again say "Alleluia." What delight there is to find the flower pot now filled with "alleluia" flowers, one for each child. What fun it is to shout "alleluia." Louder, says Liddy: "ALLELUIA!" Still louder: "A L L E L U I A!!!" Jesus Christ has risen. He has risen indeed. And lo, as the people of God gather to celebrate the risen Christ, the Rose window is fully illuminated by the morning sun. Praise be to God, from whom all blessings flow. ![]() 4/15/09 Copyright © 2006-2009, Smithfield United Church of Christ. All rights reserved.
