Thanks to Liddy and Greg, Smithfield is HAVING A BABY!
(Note: pass your mouse over the images for additional text)

And we're celebrating this imminent eminent birth with a shower for Liddy, Greg, and Baby Girl Barlow.

A splendid buffet has been laid out and our teens are ready to assist. Liddy and Greg "get to go first" with our always eager "Smithfield kids" patiently waiting their turn at the table.

No shower is complete without the GAMES. Lori and her children are ready to provide the fun with mysterious props and activities that keep everyone laughing. A few quiet groans had been heard from among the menfolk, but when Lori asked for 7 male volunteers the response was instantaneous. The premise of the first game: men don't know how hard it is to put on socks and shoes — let alone time them — when you're in the last trimester. They are about to find out. The pictures tell the story.

Lori introducing the first game to assembled folks
seated men removing shoes and socks 7 pairs of bare feet in a row
when a large bouncy balloon meets duck tape these men know what's coming and they can't help laughing
on your mark, get set go - socks first where is my foot?
some are slightly more adept than others - or wearing loafers!

It was a lesson well-learned. And the about-to-be-father said to his wife the next time he put her socks on her feet,
"I had no idea it was so hard."

Greg ties the second shoe lace; a lesson learned

The story continues
