The Birthday Feast
An intergenerational Christmas pageant, December 20, 2009

The invitation to participate in the pageant has been extended since early November, and many have signed up.

It's now Sunday, December 6, 2009, and the first of 2 planned rehearsals leading up to the dress rehearsal and presentation on Christmas Sunday, the 20th, is underway.

The littler ones are in constant movement, of course.

And many of those expected to take part have been unable to attend this first rehearsal, but they will be in attendance next Sunday, promises Liddy. In the meantime, a quick run through is in order.

What Liddy has no way of knowing is that there will be no second rehearsal. The early morning ice storm on that Sunday means that cast members are unable to get to church.

icey road conditions

The unexpected benefit for Liddy is that with no rehearsal and no little people for Children's Church and Pilgrim Adventure, she can relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy conversation with those who did make it to 620 Smithfield Street. And she can participate in the big people's church!

On Christmas Sunday morning there is much to be accomplished between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00.

Costumes and assorted props (crooks, gifts from the East, wings and halos) are laid out so that players can choose and don their costumes.

Those with speaking parts have gathered in the church library to "run lines" . . .
